SAP LES – Backbone of Logistics Processes

With SAP Supply Chain Management (SCM), SAP offers you the solution for developing logistics networks. Your customers, suppliers, manufacturers and freight carriers can thus be integrated into the information flow. Embedded in the SAP Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP), SAP SCM creates a logistics network beyond the limits of one company.
The Logistics Execution System (LES) as the principal component of SAP Supply Chain Management supports your material flow along the supply chain from the supplier to the customer. In its standard version, the ERP system processes comprehensive functions such as financial accounting, controlling or disposition. The LES takes over warehouse-specific tasks, such as storage, retrieval, packing and shipping. The warehouse management system supports you in inventory management, storage location management, direct radio data transmission, handling unit management, travel optimization in the warehouse (TRM), yard management and cross docking.
As a result of the optimized material and information flow and the great transparency of processes, there is an efficient communication between planning, optimizing and execution.
