Clearly improved assembly supply

Improved assembly supply at GROB

Holistic IT and system solution ensures transparency and process efficiency at all levels

GROB, a leading manufacturer of metal-cutting machine tools, managed to increase its production capacity at the Mindelheim headquarters by 35 % within just a few years. As factory logistics-related needs changed, the company decided to reorganize its assembly supply.

Advantages:

  • Lean and reliable assembly supply from a central warehouse
  • Reduced complexity: joint inventory for both assembly and replacement parts
  • Uniform IT concept as well as extended functions in SAP

Project details:

Thanks to a centralized logistics center with several manual and automated sections, the highly diverse parts and assemblies for machine tools are now stored in a compact manner and are consolidated depending on the specific order. The coordination and synchronization of all warehouse and staging processes is controlled using the warehouse management system SAP WM, to which several functions were added. Users work directly with SAP user interface which is uniform throughout the company.
