From fruit and vegetable growing to an economic centre

With around 130 municipal associations, Saint-Jean-de-Braye is a Mecca for lovers of culture and sport: art, music, dance and literature, team sports, martial arts and water sports. The town is only five kilometres from the centre of Orleans and is located at the northernmost point of the Loire. The area around Saint-Jean-de-Braye has been populated for 2,000 years and was once dominated by wine, fruit and vegetable growing. Today the city – even if it only has about 20,000 inhabitants – is an economic centre.

A special attraction in Saint-Jean-de-Braye is the Parc de Charbonnière, which is 180 hectares in size and invites you to walk and relax.
